The Deggendorf university location is flourishing. With the steady increase in the number of students at TH Deggendorf (THD), the need for affordable housing for students also increases. We are therefore building a new residential complex with 61 residential units in Untere Himmelreichstrasse. 61 single apartments, three communal kitchens and a toilet facility are planned.

Equipment and construction of the residential complex

The apartments are each furnished with a bed, desk, wardrobe, galley kitchen and curtains. The furniture is made of wood-based panels with an oak veneer, the sanitary block with kitchenette is set off in color with panel cladding with HPL coating. The single apartments have a small kitchenette.

On the ground floor there are 20 individual apartments, a communal kitchen and a public toilet, as well as technical areas. The kitchen can be reached barrier-free. The toilet, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the barrier-free entrance, is also designed to be barrier-free.

On the 1st floor, 23 single apartments, including a larger single apartment and a communal kitchen, and on the 2nd floor 18 single apartments, a larger single apartment and a communal kitchen can be realized.

New building near the university

The new residential complex is located in the immediate vicinity of the already existing residential complexes in Detterstraße and Frauenstraße. The way to the university is short. The THD is only about two kilometers away. “Short distances, a good connection to the train station, the city park and the city center are around the corner. These are perfect conditions for comfortable living close to the university ”, says Bavaria's former building minister Hans Reichhart. "It is important to me that we create a small piece of home for young people here in Deggendorf," Reichhart continued.

Support from the Free State of Bavaria

The Free State of Bavaria is contributing a total of € 1,952,000 to the construction of the new residential complex. Reichhart handed over the funding decision to the managing director of the Studentenwerk Gerlinde Frammelsberger. For 2019, € 32.5 million is available for student accommodation as part of the Bavarian Housing Pact, which can be topped up by € 15 million from the Bavarian housing program. The Studentenwerk thanks you for the financial support! The completion of the residential complex is planned for 2021.
