When signing their lease with the Studentenwerk Niederbayern/Oberpfalz, students from abroad have the option of specifying if they want a Welcome Guide to contact them.
Our Welcome Guides are international students themselves or German students with experience abroad. They can help you find your way around Germany. Among other things, they answer questions such as: How do I get from the airport/train station to my student residence? How do I get the keys to my room? Where can I buy dishes, pots, pans, etc.? Where do I have to register?
This programme also helps to make friends, because it is much easier to establish contacts if you already know at least one person.
