Students in Bavaria can recently submit their BAföG application using the new nationwide uniform online application “BAföG digital”. You can fill out and send the application online at www.bafoeg-digital.de.

With this new offer, you can submit your application from any device thanks to the modern and responsive design.

In addition, the new application no longer shows the long, complicated and sometimes deterrent forms 1: 1. An application assistant will guide you through the application process with simple and understandable questions. In this way, all the necessary data can be entered step by step. This should avoid the known hurdles of applying and applying for BAföG benefits even easier.

With the new portal solution, you can view the data you have entered and transmitted at any time, including a list of your submitted documents under "Men Bereich" in "BAföG digital".

Uploads of documents are also possible with the application, as well as viewing the processing status.

The introduction of the online application “BAföG digital” was implemented within the framework of the obligation to digitize administrative services through the "Onlinezugangsgesetz" (OZG). The OZG obliges the federal, state and local governments to offer their administrative services digitally via portals by the end of 2022.

The introduction of a cross-border BAföG online application is a great achievement that should also lead to an increase in the number of applications in the medium term.

Since the new online application is still under construction and does not yet offer all forms, notifications of changes and independent uploads, the Bayerische Studentenwerke will continue to operate the previous online platform for the students they supervise: At www.bafoeg-bayern.de you will find All other forms besides Forms 1, 3 and 4. Here you can upload documents and send notifications of changes digitally to the Amt für Ausbildungsförderung.
