The Mensa at Universität Regensburg at a glance

With three dining halls and a total of over 1,000 seats (600/360/100), the Mensa at Universität Regensburg is the largest catering facility of the Studierendenwerk Niederbayern/Oberpfalz. Every day there is a changing offer of meaty, vegetarian and vegan main courses as well as starters, soups, salads and desserts.

On Shrove Tuesday, February 17, 2026, the canteen will be closed from 1.00 pm onwards.

Due to construction work, the toilets in the basement are not accessible. The nearest toilets are located in the basement at the South entrance of the canteen as well as in the Studierendenhaus and in the Audimax building. More details in the site-plan.

The Mensa is located in the Mensa building of Universität Regensburg.

Special features

You cannot pay cash at the cash registers in the cafeterias and Mensas. You can use a variety of cashless payment methods, including debit/credit cards or NFC-enabled smartphones. With these payment methods, no prior loading of the Mensa card or student ID is necessary. However, please also place your Mensa card or student ID on the checkout terminals to receive a discounted rate in the Mensa.

Children of students receive until the age of six a free child's plate if the mother or father also eats lunch in the Mensa. By presenting their own student ID, student parents will receive the "Kindermensakarte", which is required to receive the free children's plate.
